Chase has announced a negative change to priority pass access for the Chase Sapphire Reserve & Chase Ritz-Carlton cards. Starting July 1 these cardholders will lose access to non-lounge spaces such as restaurants, cafes and markets.
As of July 1, 2024 you will no longer have access to restaurants, cafes, and markets participating in the Priority Pass Select network as part of the Priority Pass Select Benefit associated with your Card. Access to Priority Pass Select’s network of lounges and other select airport experiences is not impacted by this update.
Capital One made this change last year and American Express made it in 2019. I assume this is because Priority Pass charges a higher fee when providing this access. You can compare the different levels of Priority Pass access here (we will fully update this page in the coming days). How negative this change is really depends on your local airport/airports you fly to.
