Update 6/15/23: You can now link American Express cards. There is also a referral program.
Update 4/2/23: Reader RM reports on a new positive change with Payce – they now have some offers you can save to your card and use online. Right now there are offers for HelloFresh, Green Chef and possibly some other useful ones. These should also be able to stack with Amex Offers or Chase Offers.
Update 2/2/23: Two negative changes:
Several of the most popular retailers, such as Office Depot/Office Max and Staples, are now gone entirely from the in-store cashback offerings.
Several other popular retailers, such as Home Depot, CVS, and Kohls, have had their in-store cashback reduced from 5% to either 0.5% (HD, CVS) or 2% (Kohl’s).
Hat tip to reader RM
Update 12/3/20: Offers were briefly removed, but are now back.
Update 7/2/20: Friendly reminder that this program still exists and still offers cashback at top retailers like Staples, CVS, Office Depot/Max and more.
Original Post:
Reader Evan sent in a tip about a cashback shopping program called Payce. It looks a bit interesting and I’ve never heard of it before, so here’s a quick review. Please comment below with your own thoughts and experiences.
Payce offers cashback for in-store purchases and online purchases. In order to earn in-store, you first need to register a credit or debit card Visa, Mastercard, or Amex. (Note: some individual offers only work on Visa and Mastercard.) This is similar to dozens of other card-link in-store rewards program, see Complete List of Card-Linked Reward Programs. (They use Affinity Solutions for Visa/MC and Empyr for Amex.)
What’s interesting about their in-store offers is that they are currently showing some nice little cashback bonuses at top retailers like Staples, CVS, Home Depot. The standard offer seems to be to earn $5 when you spend $20/$25 or more. The terms exclude gift card purchases from earning cashback, but it’s still cool for ordinary shopping. Be sure to save offers which require saving before using.
These offers are for one-time use, but it seems offers renew monthly and I’m guessing that used offers will come back again each month. It’s also interesting that the FAQ indicates that it’s cool to open a second account with a separate email address and card, so it may be possible to do more than one offer if you’re willing to juggle more than one account.
I don’t see any referral program, but they are showing currently a $5 signup bonus for anyone who signs up and earns any amount of cash back by March 31, 2019. Minimum $10 required to cash out.
